Hye-Yong Kang is a board certified pediatrician who believes in a holistic, integrative approach to children’s health care. Dr. Kang received her medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine. She received her master’s degree in Physiology from Georgetown. She completed her pediatric internship and residency at the Children’s Hospital of Orange County in Southern California.
As a pediatric hospitalist in Southern California, she provided care in the NICU, PICU, sub-acute hospitals, delivery rooms, and during transports of critically ill children. Dr. Kang also served as the Medical Director of newborn nursery education and helped to guide clinical care protocols in the nursery. Most recently, prior to opening her own consultative practice, she worked in a well respected conventional pediatric out patient practice on Long Island.
Dr. Kang is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, certified by the American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine, a member of the section of Integrative Pediatrics of the AAP, and a member of the Nassau Pediatric Society.
Dr. Kang believes that there is a time and place for both traditional allopathic medicine and complementary modalities. She recognizes that family dynamics, nutrition, digestive issues and stress all impact wellness. Therefore, her personalized recommendations may incorporate the use of exercise, personalized dietary modification, stress reduction, nutrient replacement, essential oils, or other mind body therapies such as yoga and meditation in addition to traditional medicine.
