Dr. Halene is a Board-Certified Psychiatrist with extensive work experience at academic insinuations, the VA and community hospitals. He studied in Germany and Italy until he moved to NY in 2010.  Currently he is a professor at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, which focuses on the mechanism of action of psychiatric medications. Currently he is a psychiatrist for adults and young adults in Brooklyn and now branching out to Garden City.

Dr. Halene has co authored over 20 peer-reviewed articles along with book chapters on psychiatry.  He has done a lot of work with the VA community helping Veterans get the help they need.  He also works with Adults with Anxiety, ADHD etc. thru psychotherapy and psychopharmacology.

As a scientist he is also trying to identify genomic deregulation in serious mental illness to help build the pathway to a better understanding.
